Identity Paints Territory

The author uses original and varied research methods to characterize the ways in which Arabs divide the Israeli space into territorial units that reflect the various levels and variations in power of the definition of their collective identity. The study reveals the spectrum of contrary and contradictory elements that compose the identities of the Arabs in Israel and examines the conditions that help them create a bearable coexistence of their Palestinian identity, Israeli citizenship, and national affiliation.
